Materials

## What it means in packaging

The flute profile, liner papers and number of walls affect thickness and performance. A flute letter alone does not specify the complete board grade or prove that a box will protect a particular shipment.

## A practical example

An e-commerce mailer may use a fine flute for a compact fold, while a heavier shipping case needs a different board specification.

## What to check

Choose board from product weight, handling and testing requirements, then verify the finished pack with its contents.
