Production and files

## What it means in packaging

In packaging work it is commonly used for technical outlines and lines. Layer names and entity support vary between systems, so the importer still needs to understand which geometry is cut or creased. It does not automatically contain the complete printed artwork.

## A practical example

A converter imports a dieline DXF into CAD and maps the named line layers to its production operations.

## What to check

Confirm units, scale, supported curve entities and line-type mapping with the receiving application.
