Materials

## What it means in packaging

In printed packaging, lamination may change appearance, surface protection and converting behaviour. It is distinct from applying a liquid coating. The added layer can affect folds, adhesive bonding and the material’s end-of-life handling.

## A practical example

A matte film laminated to a printed carton changes the surface feel and may require adjustments at glue areas.

## What to check

Approve a folded sample with the final laminate, and verify material claims against the actual construction.
