Cut line
A cut line indicates a path where material is intended to be cut through, such as a package outline or window.
What it means in packaging
Cuts define free edges and openings. A coloured stroke is only a visual convention; the receiving production workflow must recognise its layer, spot colour or line type. A cut mistakenly assigned to a fold can separate a panel from the package.
A practical example
The outside edge of a tuck flap is cut. The edge joining the same flap to the carton body is creased.
What to check
Inspect open paths, duplicate contours and line assignments after importing a supplier file.
