Imposition
Imposition arranges one or more designs on a production sheet for printing and subsequent cutting or finishing.
What it means in packaging
Packaging layouts must consider the complete blank, bleed, gaps, gripper area, marks and allowed rotations. The layout with the most copies is not necessarily usable if it breaks grain requirements or finishing constraints.
A practical example
A printer repeats six carton blanks on one sheet while reserving space for handling and control marks.
What to check
Confirm usable sheet area, front-to-back alignment and finishing allowances before treating a calculated layout as production-ready.
