Coffee & tea
Coffee and tea packaging guide
Treat retail coffee, tea gifts and takeaway drinks as separate pack formats within one brand. A bag needs a converter-approved seal layout; a tea carton needs the packed sachet dimensions; a cup sleeve or carrier must fit the supplied cup.

- Measure the packed product rather than estimating dimensions from the stated fill weight.
- Ask for the bag’s seal, zipper and valve exclusion areas before laying out artwork.
- Test the intended cup, lid and filled weight when selecting a sleeve or carrier.

A supplied product model provides artwork areas. A packaging structure provides the corresponding dieline. Check the individual template page before preparing a production handoff.
Materials and supplier checks
Flexible-film and kraft-look options are design starting points. Confirm the real laminate, seal window and barrier specification with the bag converter. For sleeves and carriers, select the template’s allowed stock and test it with the intended cup.
The roaster or brand owner should approve origin, roast, ingredient and date information. Confirm valve placement, food-contact suitability and filled-pack performance with the relevant supplier; the visual material does not prove these properties.
Choose the tool for the job
Match the next task to its workflow before choosing a template or buying a plan.
| Your task | Start here | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Design a roast or tea range | SKU batch workflow | Keep the pack size fixed while changing the approved variant artwork and labels. |
| Create a tea gift carton | Dieline generator | Build the carton from the sachet arrangement and insert dimensions. |
| Check a supplied coffee-bag die | Supplier dieline import | Start from the converter’s seams and print exclusions. |
Check current plans and export access before purchasing. Production suitability and supplier approval remain separate from the visual proof.

Common questions
Can I derive a coffee bag size directly from a 250 g fill?
No. Product density, headspace and the filling process affect the required bag. Use a filled sample or a bag specification from the converter before setting dimensions.
Does the bag artwork include a working valve specification?
A valve position in a mockup is a layout reference. The bag supplier must approve the valve component, attachment and exclusion area for production.
